Choose a random password or passphrase

The password generator creates an 8-to-64-character string from the character groups you select: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols. Changing a setting regenerates the result, and the copy button sends the current password to your clipboard.

The passphrase generator combines 3 to 10 words with a chosen separator. You can capitalise the words and optionally add a number or symbol. It also displays length, word count and an estimated strength summary.

Use generated credentials safely

Use a different password for every important account so one breach cannot unlock several services. A password manager can store long random passwords without requiring you to memorise them. For a passphrase you must remember, choose enough unrelated words and avoid personal details or familiar quotations.

Where a service offers two-step verification or a passkey, consider enabling it as an additional defence. A visual strength indicator is only an estimate and cannot guarantee that a password is acceptable to a particular service or resistant to every attack.

Random password characters are selected using the browser cryptography interface, and passphrases are assembled on the device. The page does not need an account or send the generated result to a Zacdaddy server. Be mindful that copying a credential places it on the system clipboard, where other software or clipboard history may be able to read it.

Which is better: a password or passphrase?

A password manager can comfortably use a long random password. A multi-word passphrase can be easier when you genuinely need to remember and type it yourself.

Are the passwords generated online?

They are generated in your browser using its cryptographic random-number function and are not submitted to Zacdaddy Tools.

Should I reuse a strong password?

No. A unique password for each account limits the damage if one service is breached.

Does the strength bar guarantee security?

No. It is a simple estimate based on length and selected character types or words. Account security also depends on uniqueness, storage and the service itself.
