See the sale price before you buy

Select a currency, enter the original price and choose a common discount or enter a custom percentage. The calculator shows the amount saved and the final price immediately, making it useful for sales, voucher codes, trade discounts and price negotiations.

You can also enable a second discount for offers applied one after another. The result reports the combined cash saving and the effective overall percentage.

Single-discount example

Original price: £120. Discount: 25%.

Saving: £120 × 0.25 = £30.

Final sale price: £120 − £30 = £90.

Why successive discounts do not simply add

A second discount is normally applied to the already reduced price. For example, 20% off followed by another 10% off is not 30% off the original amount. A £100 item becomes £80 after the first reduction, then £72 after the second, which is a £28 saving or 28% effective discount.

Use the result for fair comparisons

Check whether delivery charges, tax, membership costs or exclusions alter the amount actually payable. Changing the displayed currency only changes number formatting; it does not perform a currency conversion. When two packs or product sizes differ, compare their unit cost rather than only their percentage reduction.

FAQs

Questions about the discount calculator

How do I calculate 30% off?

Multiply the original price by 0.30 to find the saving, then subtract that saving from the original price. The calculator performs both steps.

Can I apply two discount codes?

Yes. Enable the second discount and enter its percentage. It is applied to the price remaining after the first discount.

Why is 20% plus 10% only 28% overall?

The second 10% is taken from the reduced 80%, not from the original 100%, so it removes another 8% of the original price.

Does changing currency convert the price?

No. GBP, USD and EUR options format the same numeric price with the selected currency; no exchange rate is applied.
